A new term came into circulation in 2011 – Logistics 4.0. It is closely related to the beginning of the so-called fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), the beginning of which dates back to 2013. The end and the beginning of previous industrial revolutions were marked by breakthroughs in technology – this case is no different. Among other things, ubiquitous computing and human-machine communication are starting the next new generation of the industry as well as logistics. Big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and Internet of Services (IoS) are the main, one can say, flagship technologies of the fourth industrial revolution.
